Beehive Hat!

I found this idea in an old craft book. When I tried to follow the pattern it was disastrous, so I scrapped it and made up my own. You can download my free pattern right here!

Thread Bear in "Lodged"

In his dreams, Thread Bear goes to Canada to meet Mr. Beaver.

"Where do you live?", Thread Bear asks him. "You're standing on it!", says Mr. Beaver, "My home is called a lodge." When their visit is over, Mr. Beaver goes inside his lodge to see his family. (press play)

And Thread Bear goes home to bed.

Felt His Feet

A Christmas gift, for a lovely guy. I used this free pattern and this yarn, but kept it to the smallest size, then just added length for (what I hope is) the size of his feet. I hot washed them (where the wool stretched and expanded) and hot dried them (where the wool went back to its knitted size) in the machines, with my normal laundry.

A triple scoop for you, plus a free pattern if you'd like to make it!

Just click on the jpgs below to make them full size. Drag them from their window to your desktop. Open them, format for your printer, and print! And since this is my first attempt at a pattern ever, let me know how you do (or how I did)!

Penny and Calvin

Penny and Calvin are two piglets who live on a small farm in England. They are best friends who are often left on their own to solve problems within their environment. This is their pigsty:

I Heart Baltimore

My film "Maggie and Mildred" has won 1st prize in 3 categories at the Baltimore Women's Film Festival: Best Animation, Best Comedic Animation, and Most Visually Innovative Short Film! I can't believe it!!

Better still, they raised lots of money for the Johns Hopkins Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Center. Go Baltimore!

Red Riding Hoodie

I've been dreaming of making a really cozy lined corduroy hoodie for a long, long time. I finally made one that I really like. Now I will make at least 10 more.

I used this pattern, in size small. It's for knit fabrics, so I didn't make the band at the bottom, and had to fashion my own wrist bands, too. I did that out of contrasting fabric, and also changed up how the sepererating zipper was applied. Voila!

High Tea: Gingerbread Man

Would anyone like directions to make these High Tea non-edible foods? I'm thinking of including PDF downloads of patterns/instructions when I post one (or maye a tutorial), since I make my own patterns then toss them aside. What do you think?

Oliver & S jumpsuits

Oliver and S. (I was drawn to the name, of course) makes the cutest kid's clothes patterns in the world. I just finished two jumpsuits for upcoming presents:

The company is owned by ever-so-nice Liesl (who likes 'Maggie and Mildred'!). Everything about her company is great: the design, the illustrative styling, and the patterns themselves.

These are so quick to make, especially if you don't have an obsession with french seaming, like I do. I already have ideas on how I can customize my next few!
