I like to make these for newborn friends. They're House Frocks, and each one is different. I use New Look 6310, which I alter by lining the bodice and adding velcro closures instead of ties. Then I decorate the frocks with a door, windows (one on back, too), and various sundries from my accoutrement closet. I like to think when Baby wears it, she/he looks like a miniature house on a sunny day. The only thing missing is bottoms, perhaps as the front yards.

This snack went to work with me yesterday. It's called "3075: Rats on Cheese Wheels". My current job on this film is coming to a close fairly soon. Watch these clips and look for the rats on cheese from (what's known around here as) sequence 3075.
These 2 girls have been in a food fight! It's a scene that goes down particularly well with the the under (age) 5 set. Here are some upcoming film festival dates where my 3 minute cross-stitched film "Maggie and Mildred" will appear. If you'd like a DVD of it, just email!

I also think about going around to craft/fabric/yarn shops in the area, asking if they'd like to carry copies. If you the proprietor of such an establishment, I would love to hear your thoughts.
I found a smocking pleater at the thrift shop for $25! You can't imagine my joy. In my first attempt with it, I made this vanilla cupcake with white icing and a cherry on top. I'm going to try again, this time with a chocolate cupcake, where you can see the edge of the wrapper in all its pleated glory. Stay tuned.

In celebration of the games, vanilla sugar cookies in the shape of feet with sprinkle toenails in Olympic Ring colors! Cookie cutter found at thrift shop, painted toe idea from Jones, who assisted in arduous decoration (until onset of inevitable boredom).

Cool yourself off with a yummy orange fabric creamsicle with vanilla ice cream inside. It's over 100 degrees outside today, hence the dripping...
These chocolate cupcakes have a simple buttercream frosting and are decorated with marshmallows, cinnamon dots, chocolate chips, and black icing. They're named after Sandi Klein, my childhood poodle. Ironically, Sandi was diabetic, so we gave her daily insulin shots as a side dish to treats like these.
Rest In Peace.
You can take off this wrap skirt and spread it out on the grass on a nice summer day. Just make sure you wear something underneath, or your friends might not be able to finish their picnic.
When you find a dingy mushroom at the thrift store, your other projects quickly get sidelined. Fun Guy Foot Stool has a drawstring top and a velcro corset, so that if the fungi in the house starts running rampant, everything is washable. Including the fun guy.
