It's been incredibly hot. So we headed to "the beach", not really a beach at all, but the river that flows down from Mt. Hood. We waded in to the icy water, gratefully. The girls scooped sand, stared at fish and bugs and played mermaids, as giant birds circled above. We all loved every moment of it. We almost forgot it was 100 degrees.
It's days like this, with these happy children at wonderful ages and this family that brings me so much joy, that I never want to forget.
