England: Part 2

After our days in Birmingham seeing family, we got in a few last shots with Nana and Grandad, and took the train to London.

We spent a night in the city center, wanting to soak up as much of it as we could.  We know London well, it being the place where Mr. Jones and I met during graduate school.  With a baby, however, London is so different.  The doorways are tiny and hard to fit your carseat through, and there are very few changing tables.  When did I ever consider any of this?  We took no photos, just managing to see good friends for a curry, and then speeding off on another train (in matching outfits, ahem) to Teddington, just to the South of the city.

There, we stayed with good friends Jim and Emily, and their gorgeous boys, Samuel and Albert.

We chatted, watched the Olympics (Mr. Jones attended the Soccer final), spent time with each other's children, went out for a leisurely Sunday lunch, and enjoyed the beautiful weather.  What more could you ask for?

Jim wins Funniest Entertainer award, as I've never seen Penny laugh so hard at anyone (though Grandad was a close second).  Who knew you were so funny, Jim?  You've got a lock on the 4 month-old crowd :).

I dare say Penny is already entertained more by the Gents than the Ladies. Chalk it up their low voices or less time spent around boys, but I can't help but be concerned for the future...  :)

Thanks for a lovely 10 days in England, everyone!  We felt so taken care of, and we'll hopefully see you again soon. xoxo.

I grew up in Birmingham, what did you think of it, I live in Reading now, which is nearish to London, I try to avoid it though because it is just so busy and like you say difficult to navigate with babies! Lovely photos, love the one with the speeding train in the background.

Ahh made us well up! Just reminded us of how good it was to see you all! The video of Penny laughing is a classic and one that Jim is particularly proud of :)

We miss you xxxx
